Therefore, Halloween is undoubtedly celebrated in various ways among different cultures due to diversification in beliefs, customs and norms.

For example, In Austria, a handful of people keep bread, water and a lit candle on the table before resigning on Halloween night with the belief that doing so would invite the dead spirits back to earth on a night that Austrians viewed as eerie.

In China, Halloween is called as Teng Chieh. Nourishment and water are placed close to the photos of the deceased relatives, while blazes and lamps are lit to light the path of the spirits as they venture to every part of the earth on Halloween night.

Whereas in Germany, individuals hide blades or sharp knives on Halloween night in the hopes to avoid hazard mischief from the revisiting spirits.

The Halloween festival in Hong Kong is known as "Yue Lan" (Festival of the Hungry Ghosts).Usually, people burn photos of money or fruits in hopes that these pictures would enter the world of spirits and carry solace to the apparitions. Flames are lit and nourishment and blessings are offered to assuage possibly irate phantoms who may search for vengeance.
